Biography
Mark Southworth (born October 1961) is a British stunt performer and coordinator. Born in in Sidcup, Kent, England, his full name is Mark Alexander John Southworth. Initially building his reputation as a stunt performer in high-profile films such as Braveheart (1995), The Mummy (1999), Troy (2004), Batman Begins, Snatch (2000) doubling Brad Pitt, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005), and The Dark Knight Rises (2012), he later transitioned into stunt coordination and action choreography.
Southworth took on key roles as stunt coordinator or assistant coordinator on a slew of major productions. Notable films where he led stunt work include Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle (2018), The Death of Stalin (2017), King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017), and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008). Additionally, his assistant coordination credits include major studio films like Mary Poppins Returns and Maleficent, as well as television projects such as Curfew (2019).
Southworth is a full member of the British Stunt Register, having joined in 2017, and holds a Health and Safety Level 4 certification. Over the years, his filmography has included more than 90 titles spanning film, television, video games, and commercials. He has performed stunts in TV series such as Game of Thrones, Merlin, and The Gentlemen (2024), and even served as a coordinator on commercials for Heineken, Marks & Spencer, Cadbury, and others.
